USOS Mission

Enable meaningful support and outreach to uniformed servicemembers.

USOS vision

Connecting servicemembers to financial and educational resources, and providing means to advance their missions by improving their lives.

USOS Story

The Uniformed Services Outreach and Support (USOS) organization was formed to connect service members to existing resources as needed and to bridge the gap between those resources and remaining servicemember needs.

USOS was born out of Air Force Reserve members at Schriever Air Force Base, now Schriever Space Force Base, seeing a discrepancy between what Reserve Airmen were asked to accomplish and the means by which they were expected to do so.

Additional needs were soon brought to light, such as proper transportation for traveling Reservists to/from airports, hotels, and local work centers; rental cars are typically not authorized expenses for travelers, and the financial burden is often unreasonable.

Realizing that other Airmen in both the Active and Reserve components are impacted by various, similar, uncontrollable, and unaccounted-for circumstances, the vision for USOS expanded into finding ways to meet real needs of real Airmen. Sometimes military expectations are heavier burdens than members should be expected to bare; other times servicemembers find themselves impacted by life circumstances that negatively impact their effectiveness. An all-volunteer service relies on members who sacrifice certain societal norms for the sake of being part of something more important; the mission. These servicemembers inherently strive for mission success, often neglecting their own welfare, best interests, and the support of which many are unaware.

Sacrifice and an obligation to duty drive members of every military branch, therefor the intent is to expand resources to enable members of all military branches. Likewise, we recognize that other uniformed organizations such as law enforcement and fire fighters wear the uniform, make similar sacrifices for similar reasons, and deserve similar support.

USOS intends to partner with existing support organizations to ensure those resources are known and made available to servicemembers. Where those resources fall short, USOS will endeavor to create the resource or facilitate the necessary means.
